Style your browser's home page

The web page that loads when you open your Internet browser is called the home page. You can use our free service to put some personal style on your computer by changing the home page to a full-window image of your choice, that automatically scales to the correct size.

Q: What exactly does that look like?
Try the link under one of the images below. You can return to this page by clicking the back button in your browser. The first time you view an image it may take a moment to load since it is large. But if you use the image as your home page it will be much faster because the image is cached by the browser.

Q: That looks cool. How do I change my browser's home page to one of the images?
Click here to see how you can change the home page in some popular browsers.

Here is how to change the home page in some popular browsers: (close box)

Internet Explorer

Method 1: If you use Internet Explorer, there should be buttons below the images called "Set home page". Just click the button below the image you want to use on your home page, and answer yes to the confirmation dialog. If for some reason this does not work, you can use one of the following methods:

Method 2: First go to the page you would like as your home page (click the link below your chosen image). Then press Alt+T (hold down the Alt key on your keyboard, press T, and release the Alt key). You then get a new window where you can change the browser's home page.

Method 3: First go to the web page you want to use as your home page. Select "Tools" in the menu, and then select "Internet Options". This opens a new window:

Select the "General" tab at the top of the new window, and then click the "Use current" button to select the current web page. Finally click the "OK" button (not shown on the image above).

Firefox

Method 1: You can drag one of the links below an image to your browser's home button. You do this by placing the mouse pointer over the link, and then click and hold the left mouse button. Then move the link to the home button, and release the left mouse button. The home button is the button you click in the browser to go to your home page.

Method 2: First go to the web page you want to use as your home page (click the link below your chosen image). Then select "Tools" in the menu, and then select "Options". This opens a new window:

Select the "General" tab at the top, and make sure you have selected "Show my home page". Now simply click "Use Current Page" to select the web page you are currently viewing as your new home page.

Chrome

See the description on Google's help pages here.

Q: Why is there a box to choose a country?
If you move the mouse pointer over the home page, or simply start to type, then a Google search box shows up to make it easy to search the Internet. If you select another country than the United States, you can search both your "local" Google and the "international" version.

You can see that the links below the images change when you select another country. So first select the correct country, then set your browser's home page.

Q: This is all very nice, but I would like to use my own photos. How do I do that?
Click here to create a free account. You can then upload and use your own photos. And you can select a set of photos, which are then alternately used on the home page.
