Get your own Personal Start Page

The first page that is displayed when you open your Internet browser is called the start page. You can set this to any webpage you want, or set it to a blank page.

Using this website you can very easily (and completely free) make your own personal start page, to give your desktop a personal look. Here is a small picture of what the webpage can look like:

The page contains:

  • A headline. You can select the text size, or choose not to have any headline.
  • A picture. You can upload any photo from your computer to your personal page, for that truly personal touch. If you want to use a picture you have seen on the Internet, just save it to your computer first (you can save most pictures on the Internet by right-clicking on them with your mouse, and choosing "Save Image As"). If you prefer you can also use the photo as a background image.
  • A search box. This lets you search the Internet using Google.
  • Links. You can add up to 64 links to your start page. You add the links and type in the text you want to be able to "click on". By linking to the websites you visit often in this way, it is very easy to get to them from your start page. They are literally only one click away.

When you have created the page and set it to be the start page in your browser, you can enjoy it every time you get on the Internet. And if you want to change it later, maybe add some more links or change the photo, just click the "edit" link (the last link on the page). By the way this does not delete your old page; you simply create a new one with the old as starting point. So if you regret the changes, no harm is done.

To get started click here. We have tried to explain all the steps along the way, but if you don't get it absolutely right the first time don't give up. Just click the "edit" link to make changes, or simply start again from scratch. Have fun!
